Bling It On/Card for Rio

Good Morning! Today I am sharing a card I made for Simply Betty Stamps Challenges. The challenge is to use "bling" on a card. I also used the Simply Betty Stamps limited Birthday Rio digi image. Betty created this image for her daughter, Rio's 13th birthday celebration. This is a limited digi image that can be purchased HERE. Rio asked her mom if she can donate all her birthday money to St Jude's Children's hospital. Betty is taking all the proceeds from the sale of this image and also donating the money to St Jude's Children's hospital in her daughter's name. You can read about her selfless donation at Simply Betty Stamps Blog.

You can enter the challenge at Simply Betty Stamps Challenges.

Supplies: Simply Bettys Stamps Rio Birthday Image, Bazzil Bling, I-Rock Bling, Queen and Co. Black Felt, black and grey cardstock, Tag Along Attachment, MS Star Border Punch and Copics

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a wonderful day!

Claudia and Company DT Call and Challenge/By Lori Designs Challenge

Once again I am cutting it close by entering my card last minute. Claudia and Company's challenge this week is a Recipe Challenge: 2 sheets of DP, 3 buttons, 1 image, and at least 1 piece of decorative trim. The challenge ends today. Claudia and Company is also having a Design Team Call that ends today as well. Fingers crossed! You can see all the challenges and products sold at Claudia and Company.

Supplies: SEI Jocelyn PP, 3 Buttons, Tan/Brown Frazzle, SU Punch and Stamp, Copics

I am also using this card for a challenge at By Lori Designs. Her challenge can be found HERE. BLD Challenge ends on Feb. 2. I love using BLD digi images. They are so cute. The one I used is titled Love You Mommy 2. Since I have all girls, I am using it as a "Thinking of You" card. It was nice coloring little boys for a change.

This is a special image and can only be purchased As Part of a Fundraiser. Please take time to look at all the digi images you can get for $25.00 to help a girl named Katie.

SOS Jan. Challenge - Layout

I just love this picture of my Emma. She was 2 years old, now she is 8. Time sure does fly by. She was modeling a new swimsuit and accessories. For the "New" I used my new felt Thickers for the title and I borrowed my cousin, Kelly's "New" Martha Stewart scissors that cut paper to look like grass or shredded paper. This was a fun and colorful layout for me to do. Now it's your turn to try the January Challenge.

The January Challenge is to do a NEW project. This can be a layout, card, or any kind of project having to do with NEW. You may want to use the word new in your title, this could be about a new year's resolution - or could be a new technique or tool you used to complete your project. The possibilities are endless. Just complete your project and send a picture along with a description to scrappinpsycho@live.com Your project will be posted here at Scrap Our Stash. The challenge will end at 6:00 PM on January 31st. A winner will be chosen and offered the opportunity to become a Guest Design Team Member for the month of March.

A Special Image for a Special Girl with a Special Request

This is copied from Simply Betty Stamps' Blog:

Hello everyone! I am hoping to reach many of you on this special post...

My daughter Rio is turning 13! OMG another teen in the house! Two teens+one toddler= disasterous fun... on most days! LOL

Okay okay, so let me tell you about the Special Image for my Special girl Rio with a Special Birthday request we got from her this year...

Every year I ask the kids what they want for their birthday. Money, a trip, a party, or an overnight stay at Disneyland.... Rio came to me and said, "Mom, is it really really my choice what I get for my birthday?" I told her of course! So she says, "Ok, this year mom, I want money, but can I do anything at all with it? I mean anything I want mom?" Again, I said of course. "Okay, I want my birthday money to be donated to the children of St. Jude's hospital so they can have a special day, or whatever the money is needed for. I don't want to have money to just blow when I can help other kids that can't get out of bed, or go outside. That's what I want for my birthday!"

Of course I was already choking on my tears before she finished her sentence! What a marvelous request, selfless and special! I had a special image made for her 13th birthday, and I have not told her about it, or shown it to her. I am asking for a very special request myself in honor of my daughter's selflessness.

The image is now available for $3.00, I am asking you all to purchase this special stamp and help me bring my daughter special birthday wishes by mailing off a card you make with the image to her... but wait that's not all... the $3.00 made from every purchase will be donated to St. Jude's, again in Rio's honor. I am planning on taking her after her birthday to the hospital with the money we raise from this image and her birthday money as requested and giving it all to the hospital!

Her birthday is Feb. 8th, if you all could find it in your hearts to give my little girl that special card my mailing it to her I know it would make her day so special... she is always so grateful of the little things and my hope is to fill that mailbox of ours to the brim with Birthday cards! I plan to gather all cards mailed to her from now until the 8th, and secretly putting them all in the mailbox along with her very favorite chocolates: York Peppermint Patties and Peanut Butter cups! That evening after her birthday dinner I am going to ask her to walk down the street with me to the cluster boxes and have her open the mailbox (I am going to pretend I have not checked the mail all day of course) then BAM! they all pop out at her! Whoohooo! She will be thrilled once she realizes what exactly all those letters are.

Here is our mailing address:

PO BOX 132314
Big Bear Lake, CA 92315

So, would you all be willing to help Rio raise a little money for the kids and send off a card? If so you can purchase the image at simplybettystamps.com under Rio the Birthday Girl digi! She is the first (but limited edition) of six new Emos to come in the future!

Rio Digi: She's the special birthday diva turing 13!! I will run this image for $3.00 until the 8th of Feb. after that she will be gone for good. So please be aware that she will be a very limited edition digi! She may later make a debut in rubber but I am not making any promises, I will try my best if there is enough interest in her to be made into Rubber. Thank you all for your support! And please please please spread the word about this special fund raiser. Thank you all again!
Rio Birthday Girl Digi

I personally think what Rio and Betty are doing is amazing. What a selfless birthday wish. I hope you can all take the pleasure in buying this digi from Simply Betty Stamps for the wonderful cause, create a card to make Rio's day and to have a fun digi girl.

SOS Jan. Challenge - Layout

I made this layout using a picture from Thanksgiving 2009 of my daughter, Victoria 10and myself. We rarely get a good picture together so I just had to scrap this one. I am not sure what pp I used as it is "New" to me. Whenever my cousin and I buy stacks of paper, we always split it as we will never use it all. She has the cover of this stack and I can't find the name of it. The 2 punches I used are new and are from Martha Stewart and I also used new rhinstones in the middle of the flowers. The "New" technique I did was spraying glitter mist on the vertical diecut coming down from the flower. You can't really see it in the picture but it shines nicely IRL. Thanks for joining me today. Now it is your turn to take the January Challenge.

The January Challenge is to do a NEW project. This can be a layout, card, or any kind of project having to do with NEW. You may want to use the word new in your title, this could be about a new year's resolution - or could be a new technique or tool you

SOS January Challenge - My Tags

(Click picture to see a larger version)

Hello, today I would like to share with you the tags I have been making and swapping. I joined Kinderstampo's Monthly Tag Swaps, found on facebook. Each month you can choose to join the swap or not. Each month your tags must be postmarked by the 15th and mailed to Jess aka Kinderstampo. Jess sets up a theme each month and you can choose the amount of tags you would like to swap. I try and do between 10 and 20 depending on how crazy my month will be. The top tag was made in November, middle tag was December and last is for January. The "New" in each tag are as follows: Nov.; Cuttlebug Dot embossing pad and buttons, Dec.; I-Rock Tool, Bling and Tim Holtz Die, Jan.; Paper Studio Birthday Extravaganza pp and Copics. I really enjoy making tags and receiving them. I am going to challenge myself to get more crafty and detailed in February. Thanks for stopping by... Now it's your turn to take on the January Challenge!!
