Creative Scrappers 2 Sketches = 2 Layouts

I can't believe today is August 31! The summer has flown by and it is almost time for school. It was a busy summer as I am sure it was for all of you. I did finally find time to scrap. Yay! I was able to make two layouts to go with the Creative Scrappers Sketch challenges. I love their sketches! The first sketch is #116, I did was a picture of Sara and her teacher, Mrs. Blender.

Journaling: If only there were more teachers like Mrs. Blender. She saw the intelligence and confidence inside Sara and brought them to the surface. She pinpointed Sara's learning difficulty in comprehension and took her under her wings. After several tests and meetings with the both of us, she set up a team to help Sara deal with being an IEP student. She taught Sara how to read in between the lines, special ways to take notes and how to test herself. Thanks to Mrs. Blender's dedication$ the help of other teaches. Sara is going to school to be a sonographer and is getting straight A's.
Supplies: BoBunny Block Party papers, journaling card and buttons, Thicker letters

The second Sketch #117 is about our new puppy, Sparkles.

Journaling: You wanted a puppy, we wanted a companion for Max... so we took a ride to Pet Smart on July 22, 2010 and you adopted Sparkles from Save a Life foundation. Even though she is your puppy, we all take part in the taking care of our Sparkles.
Supplies: Leaving Prints pp, MM Ribbon, Flowers gifted from my cousin Kelly, Thicker letters, Around the Block Dog House Pin, SU Brads.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks to the Creative Scrappers Sketch DT for making awesome sketches. I am looking forward to working on more this week. Creative Scrappers

Simply Betty Stamps DT Call and Claudia&Co. Sketch

Hi All! This week I enjoyed playing around with 2 fun and inspiring blog sites! Simply Betty Stamps and Claudia & Co. Simply Betty is having a DT call that ends on Sept 1. You can find all the info HERE The challenge for the call is to make a funny card. I decided to use School Emo Miller. He has this quirky look on his face and I couldn't resist him. My card has Miller next to his homework that is all crinkled and chewed up... I think he is blaming it on his dog. lol You can find Miller and all the other great Simply Betty images at Simply Betty Stamps

Supplies:
Simply Betty Digi Miller, Bazzill Basics Brown Cardstock, SU White, Blue and Yellow Cardstock, DCWV PP, Around The Block Dog Paper Pin, Stazon Brown Ink and atyouSpica Glitter Pens to color Miller.

I used this awesome sketch from Claudia & Co. I just flipped it around to fit my card.

I get so inspired by both blogs. Oodles of talent out there. Thanks for visiting....

Victoria Started Her Own Blog and Posted a Layout

WOW! Three posts in one day.... usually I don't have much too share these days. I am excited to let you all know that my daughter, Victoria has started her own blog. She loves to spend time in my scraproom and create layouts and cards. She has gotten hooked on stamping and using digi art to make her layouts. She entered a challenge over at Simply Betty Stamps for the teen challenge that Rio, Betty's daughter is hosting. I think Rio's monthly challenges will be a great way for Victoria to express her creative sides with some fun inspiration. Please take a minute to go look at her latest SBS layout HERE and leave her some love.

She also created a layout for a challenge at Lollipop Crafts which I am hoping to take a picture and help her upload and link sometime tomorrow. Then I must work on my own layout for this challenge as well.

Simply Betty Stamps Weekly Challenges and DT Call

Simply Betty Stamps will be hosting weekly challenges and is having a DT call until Sept 1. I am sure this will be a lot of fun. SBS has so many great stamps and digis. You can get yours HERE
Simply Betty Challenge Blog will be fun and creative showing a bunch of inspiration.

August Challenge at Scrap Our Stash Challenge Blog

Hello, August challenge at SOS is to make your own flowers. Unfortunately, I was not able to post tutorial pictures but my flowers are easy peasy. My computer has a huge virus and is being repaired at Staples. Anyway, here is my layout titled: Ready To Bloom.

This is a picture of my 10yr old daughter, Victoria. She wasn't in the picture taking mood that day but I decided she still looked beautiful and this picture represents the "mood - ready to bloom" that she has been in for over a year now. kwim?! lol For picture taking purposes I put white paper behind my layout (that is not part of the layout).

My flowers were made using the Stampin' Up Scallop Punch. After punching the scalloped circles, I cut next to each scallop on a slight angle the inked the petals. I added a button to the center and there you go, instant flower. I learned this trick from my SU friend, Stasia Stasia's Stampzone while scrapping at her house one night. Now it's your turn to share your layout with handmade flowers with the rest of us. Do you have a tutorial to go with it? Send it to www.scrappinpsycho@live.com and your layout will be featured on the Scrap Our Stash blog with a chance to win a GDT spot for October.

Going Grey Challenge using Simply Betty Stamps

Scrap-Creations
is having an "Anything Goes" challenge using Basic Grey. I chose to make an anniversary card for my husband. We celebrated 24 years together yesterday. The sponsor for this challenge is ShopKenny K's
I can't wait to get my hands on some of the digis from Kenny K's. I have 6 on my hot list right now!

I used Betty and Christian digi images from Simply Betty Stamps for this fun beach anniversary card. I just love their style. The Basic Grey paper and letter stickers I used are from the Motifica Scrapbook Kit, American Craft Ribbon and Stampin Up Writers. The sun was made using a spider web stamp purchased at AC Moore.
