Home Decor Hop April 22 - 24

Welcome to the Home Decor Hop

I was so excited to be added to the hop by Faith.  We have a long list of hoppers this weekend.  I hope you have enjoyed all the projects you have seen already.  If you just popped in to my blog to say hi, thank you.  You may want to start from the beginning at Faith's Blog.  If you stopped here from Chris' Blog then you are on the right track.

I wasn't sure what to share.  Something that isn't a layout or a card?  hmmm.... Then I thought of a collage.  I love to recycle items to create new things.  I decided to take an old window that we had in our basement and turn it into a beach theme collage.

After cleaning off the dust and webs...  I painted it white and some blue for "the sky".  My kids are always collecting seashells and bringing home baggies of sand from the Jersey Shore.  I took some heavy duty double sided tape and put some along the bottom and side of the window and some on the glass then I covered it in the sand.  Next, I adhered pictures on the back of the windows facing out.  After that was finished, I had hubby attach some 3D beach items that I painted to the window.  I added shells, mini bottle of sand and made a mini crab trap with a paper crab inside it.
There you go!  A wall decoration that cost next to nothing to make and it displays one of our favorite past-times.

I also painted a row boat and put some shells inside which hangs next to our window.

Next up is the very talented Anita.  If you like my blog, please become a follower.  Once I hit 300 followers, I will have some yummy blog candy.  I would love to hear what you think about my recycled window.  Please leave me a comment with a way to contact you because I am giving away Blog Candy for a random commenter.  Thank you for stopping by.   Have a Happy Easter!!

Hi, Kimmarie! What an awesome idea! I just love old wood-framed windows and this is a wonderful way to recycle/repurpose them! Love the shabby chic look of it and the little boat shelf is so cute with it too.
